The guys have a whole bunch of random topics this week. Jeff starts off talking about the projects he's editing right now and then it's about the book he finished reading last week--Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin. The other book discovery is Gay Sex Positions: An Adult Coloring Book, which they've ordered and Will shows off the sample page he's colored. Moving on to TV, they talk about The Voice battle rounds, La'Porsha Renae on American Idol, Kim Fields and Nyle DiMarco on Dancing with the Stars as well as The Passion Live on Fox.

Last week's Question of the Week on podcasts is answered before the guys dive into two podcasts they listened to that had an impact: The Creative Penn's interview with Beth Buelow about her book Introvert Entrepreneur and The Self Publishing Podcasts' discussion of "How to Be Happy Where You Are in Your Writing Career."

The Academy Award nominated film Carol, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, is praised. Jeff also discusses the upcoming #40toNoneDay, which raises awareness about LGBT youth homelessness. The show wraps up with the new Question of the Week: "How often do you browse physical bookstores for books?" and a look ahead to the Rainbow Book Fair, coming up April 9 in NYC.

The guys are fresh from a date night in San Francisco where they saw Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage. Will talks about the movies Magic Mike XXL and Crimson Peak before Jeff discusses the audiobook he started this week, Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin. A Sound Beginning short story winner Rene is congratulated as the guys start discussing last week's question of the week about audiobooks.

Next up, gay romance author Kris Cook and poptart Chadrick Douglas from the Romance Out Loud podcast join the show to talk about the origin of their show, Kris' books and what Chadrick's digging in the world of pop culture. Jeff & Will wrap up by answering the Kris and Chadrick's Question of the Week: "What podcasts are you listening to?"

The guys talk about what they're looking forward to at the Dreamspinner author conference in Orlando, as well as the brainstorming they've been doing to prepare for a pitch they're going to make on a trilogy they'll write together. Jeff takes a moment to talk about this week's Hat Trick anniversary--it was three year's ago that he signed the contract for the first novel. He also mentions the series being mentioned on Brandilyn's Top 10 LGBT Fiction list that was released on February 28. Since the episode was recorded early, the listeners were referred to the shownotes to see the answers to the question "As a reader, what's your favorite POV and why?"

Jeff introduced USA Today best-selling author Sarina Bowen and called out the success that the book Us is already having while it's in pre-order. Sarina then joined to talk about the upcoming book, which releases on Tuesday, March 8, as well as her writing process with Elle Kennedy and what's coming up for her later this year (including the first book in the new Brooklyn Bruisers series). Sarina also asks the Question of the Week: "Which character archetypes are you just done with?" Listeners can answer the question in the comments section of the shownotes for this episode.
