Jeff talks about the past week's powerful performance by Darius and Taylor on So You Think You Can Dance. The guys also review the documentary Rebels on Pointe and the film Saturday Church.

On the book front, Jeff reviews Borrowing Blue by Lucy Lennox and Will reviews Hudson's Luck by Lucy Lennox as well as Pumpkin Spice Omega by Susi Hawke.

Jeff interviews Alexander C. Eberhart about this debut YA novel, There Goes Sunday School. They discuss the inspiration for the book, Alex's author influences and what he likes to read, his writing process and what's coming up next.

The Queer Sacramento Author Collective reading took place on Friday night at the Lavender Library featuring readings from LE Franks, Pat Henshaw, Amy Lane, J. Scott Coatsworth and co-host Jeff Adams.

Jay from Joyfully Jay stops by with a preview of the upcoming Reading Challenge Month, which begins September 3. She also recommends books from Tal Bauer, Lee Welch, Amy Lane and N.R. Walker.

Summer movies The MegChristopher RobinBecoming Bond and Crazy Rich Asians are briefly discussed. Jeff talks about his first visit to Rosalind Abel's Lavender Shores with a quick review of The Palisade while Will goes on to review the fourth Shores book, The Shipwreck.

Hank Edwards, our first Coastal Magic Convention Featured Author guest, is here to talk about the latest in his Critter Catchers series as well as the re-release of his Fluffers, Inc.series. This week the podcast celebrates its 150th episode, which features a freshened up introduction and closing by voice artist Derrick McClain.

The guys congratulate the filmmaking team of Jason T. Gaffney, Ed Gaffney and Suzanne Brockmann on Analysis Paralysis getting its world premiere screening at September's Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival.

The documentary Kiki is reviewed. Jeff then reviews Not Your Villain by C.B. Lee and also gives a shoutout to Rhys Ford's upcoming book, Savior. He encourages people to pre-order that ahead of its mid-September release.

Author and filmmaker Brian Sloan is interviewed about his latest project, West 40s. Brian also talks about earlier works, such as his YA novels, the film WTC View and what he currently enjoys watching.

This week Jeff interviews TJ Klune and Kirt Graves. Ravensongthe sequel to TJ's best selling Wolfsong, releases on Tuesday, July 31. TJ discusses what readers can look forward to in Ravensong, which takes place before, during and after the events in the first book. TJ also discusses what's still to come in the Green Greek series.

Kirt relates how he got into audiobook narration, how he got the Wolfsong job (which was his first) and the recording of that book. Kirt and TJ also discuss how their collaboration works.

Other topics include what draws readers to Joe and Ox, the length of books and why TJ likes long stories. Both of them discuss what's in their futures as well, including TJ's upcoming The Extraordinaries series and October's The Bones Beneath My Skin.

Layla then talks with Jeff about her new series, as well as the Agents Irish & Whiskey series, how she got her start and what's still to come. Jeff reviews the audiobooks With A Kick Collection #1 by Clare London and narrated by Joel Leslie and Hearts in Ireland by J.C. Long with narration by John Steinkamp. He also discusses the children's book Maiden Voyage. Will reviews The Palisade by Rosalind Abel and narrated by Kirt Graves.

The guys talk to Jennifer Morris, the director of the Coastal Magic Convention. They get all the details on the 2019 gathering, why she started the con and how she curates the weekend's activities. Big Announcement! The Big Gay Fiction Podcast will be joining the other Featured Bloggers at the 2019 Coastal Magic Convention (February 28 - March 3 in Daytona Beach, Florida).

For movies this week, Jeff talks about the extras on the Love, Simon Blu-Ray while Will talks about two older films featuring gay leading men of yesteryear -Jack the Giant Killer and The Female Animal.

Children's and YA books are also the focus this week. The guys remind everyone that Maiden Voyage, the second book from the duo behind last year's Promised Land, arrives on June 26. Will also reviews Prince & Knight and The Story of Harvey Milk & The Rainbow Flag. Meanwhile, Jeff discusses C.B. Lee's Not Your Sidekick.

The guys visit Sacramento's Lavender Library, Archives, and Cultural Exchange to interview board member Trevor Neeley. They talk about the history of the library, what its mission is, how it serves the community and what's coming as it prepares to celebrate its 20th Anniversary. Last weekend's Tony Awards are discussed along with NBC's Rise and the movies Paris is Burning, a documentary about the ballroom scene in late 1980s New York City, and Strike a Pose which looks at the dancers who were on Madonna's Blonde Ambition Tour.

Jeff reviews two books by Seth King: Honesty and Twinkle Toes. Seth is then welcomed to the show to discuss his latest book, Who's Your Daddy? Seth also talks about starting to write at an early age, his process and what it was like to come out with the publication of Honesty.

Jeff interviews Becky Albertalli, author of the best selling book Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda which hits the big screen this week under the title Love, Simon. Jeff and Becky talk extensively about the book's journey to the screen, including why the title changed, which actor came up with a new scene that Becky loves, and Oreos!
