Jeff and Will kick off this week's show with no new updates because they're on a roadtrip-- off to see The Wiz at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival!

As part of the 2016 GRL Blog Tour, Tali Spencer talks about her latest book, Victory Portrait.

Jeff and Will discuss recent movies they've seen--My Name is Doris and 4th Man Out--before welcoming Joyfully Jay back to the podcast to chat about favorite audiobooks and narrators.

Joe Okonkwo joins the podcast for an interview about his debut novel, Jazz Moon, along with his author inspiration and advice for other first-time novelists.

Jeff had big publishing news this week as Codename Winger #1: Tracker Hacker was contracted by Harmony Ink Press for a Fall 2017 release. He's also participating in Love Is Proud, a charity anthology coming from JMS Books which will benefit the victims and families of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. Love's Opening Night was also re-submitted this past week for consideration as a full novella.

The guys discuss this past week's Tony Awards, which they felt was the best in years.

Carrie Pack visits as part of the Official GRL Blog Tour. The guys also unveil a giveaway where podcast listeners have the chance to win a 7" Fire tablet loaded with books from the authors appearing on BGFP as part of the blog tour.

Moving on to pop culture for the week, the Pride issue of Entertainment Weekly is discussed as well as Eastsiders season 2, a new show called Truth Slash Fiction that's premiering at SeriesFest on June 23, as well as pilots from Amazon--The Last Tycoon with Matt Bomer and a reboot of the Kroftt classic Sigmund & The Sea Monsters.

Lisa from the Novel Approach stops by to talk about five books she's excited about this month.

Jeff kicks things off with a writing update before singing the praises of a book he recently finished: The Long Season by Michael Vance Gurley--a gay hockey romance set in 1926 Chicago.

Jennah Scott joins us for the 2016 GRL Blog Tour to talk about her recent book Evan's Luck, which she co-wrote with H. Sterling. She talks Kansas City BBQ!

Jeff & Will discuss the recently released author's earnings report as well as some specific figures released by thriller/non-fiction author (and podcaster) Joanna Penn. Will goes on to  celebrate filmmaker Irwin Allen, whose 100th birthday was on June 12.

To celebrate audiobook month, voice over artist Derrick McClain is welcomed to the podcast. Derrick discusses how he came to love gay romance, how he got started as a narrator and answers the burning question: is it difficult or embarrassing to narrate a sex scene.

The guys kick off the show wishing everyone a happy Pride month. Jeff talks about Mississippi YA librarian Stefani, who created a Pride display only to have it removed by her library before the day was over due to complaints. Jeff encourages everyone who sees organizations supporting the LGBTQ community to thank them in an effort to make sure love always trumps hate.

After Jeff updates his writing progress for the week, the Official 2016 GRL Blog Tour kicks off with Jaime Reese talking about her latest book, A Mended Man and her cover design work as her alter ego Reese Dante.

Will talks about the recently released author lineup for February 2017's Costal Magic convention. And, following up on last weeks discussion of #GiveElsaAGirlfriend and #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend, Jeff highlights an essay he read this week called "Fandom is Broken".

Debut novelist Richard Pearson stops by to talk about The Role. The interview went long, so this week there's a bonus segment on the the podcast and YouTube feeds with nearly fifteen more minutes with Richard.
