She also shares why she enjoys spreading romances across multiple books, her enjoyment in writing second chance romance, and the twists that she always adds to her paranormal characters to make them her own. In addition, we get a great story about how Jenn and Kelly Jensen got together to write the "Chaos Station" series.

Jeff talks with author Sara Dobie Bauer about her new adult, rom-com, horror story "This is Not A Horror Movie," which also happens to be this month's Big Gay Fiction Book Club selection. We talk about where the characters of Emory and Connor came from, as well as all of the horror movie references Sara uses in the story. We also get details on Sara's love of romance and horror, why it's important to her to include mental health themes in her book, and what's coming up next for her.

To kick off the holiday season, Jeff & Will welcome Roan Parrish. The conversation starts with Christmas and Roan's holiday romance "The Lights on Knockbridge Lane." The book, the third in the "Garnet Run" series, is historic in that it's the first time an m/m romance has been a part of a Harlequin series line. Roan talks about the romance between Adam and Wes, writing about pets that aren't cats and dogs, as well as writing her first ever child character.

Shifting gears to Halloween, we discuss Roan's Audible Original "Strange Company." This collection of creepy short stories includes a mix of old and new stories perfect for the season. Roan shares her love of Halloween and scary things, as well as the experience of working with her girlfriend, Timmi Meskers, who composed the music for the production.

We are super excited this week to welcome Silas Whitaker, a new audiobook narrator who already has a few titles out for young adult and gay romance fans. Author Julian Winters joins us as well to tell the story of how Silas came to narrate "How to be Remy Cameron." We get the scoop on how Silas recorded his first book, managed the large cast of characters, and what his favorite scene was. We also talk about the books Silas has recorded in the gay romance genre. In addition, Julian discusses his short story in the "Black Boy Joy" anthology.

In a change from our usual interviews with fiction authors, we welcome American Ballet Theatre principal dancer James Whiteside to discuss "Center Center," his recently released memoir. James is a dancer, musician, drag performer and has now added author and audiobook narrator to his credits. He talks with us about choosing which of his life experiences to explore and how he used writing to creatively present them.
