It's a big anniversary show this week!

Jeff & Will celebrate 21 years since their first date, the podcast celebrates six months and Dreamspinner Press celebrates nine years in business with a week long sale of books from authors who started with them during their first three years (which includes Jeff). Jeff also talks about the decent writing month he had in April and that Tammy Middleton's Authors "Sign Off" for Autism Awareness Auction ended with a $110 bid for the Hat Trick books.

Jeff will be on the WROTE podcast on Friday, May 6. The guys also gave a shout out to their friend David LaBounty whose Bookstores & Baseball zine was written up on Minor League Baseball's website and that David had written a nice piece about BGFP on his The First Line Facebook page. The writeup included the instructions for the a BGFP drinking game.

Will reviews two books: The Unstable Stud by Ariel Tachna and Duke in Hiding by M.J. O'Shea. They guys also discuss the upcoming second season of Lifetime's UnReal and the webseries they caught this past week, UnReal: The Faith Dairies, which focuses on the lesbian character, Faith.

Jay from Joyfully Jay stops by to discuss a couple of LGBTQ panels from the recent RT convention and gives some book recommendations. Then Jeff welcomes Jeff Garvin, author of Symptoms of Being Human to the show to talk about the book, his writing process, Stephen King and more.

The guys kick off with an acknowledgement of Prince's death and call out the appreciation CBS Sunday Morning offered. Listeners are also reminded that this is the last week of Tammy Middleton's Authors "Sign Off" for Autism Awareness auction as bidding closes on Saturday, April 30.

Jeff reviews The Role by Richard Taylor Pearson before the guys get into talking about this week's The Voice and Dancing with the Stars. They also gave a shout out to the Pride Coloring Book, from the same team that created the Gay Sex Positions Coloring Book, which is having a GoFundMe campaign to get it off the ground.

Next up Jeff & Will interview Donnie & Greg, the guys behind the Bureau of General Services-Queer Division, a book store, gallery and event space inside the LGBT Center in New York City. After the interview the guys reveal that Donnie and Greg are part of the new team of contributors for the podcast which also includes bloggers Joyfully Jay, Love Bytes, The Novel Approach, Prism Book Alliance and QUEERCentric Books.

Tammy Middleton stops by for a brief interview about her Authors "Sign Off" for Autism Awareness auction that runs all month and Jeff mentions that he's added a book to the Hat Trick series that's already up for auction.

Jeff reviews Ariel Tachna's Unstable Stud before the guys talk about Nyle's Tarzan Samba on Dancing with the StarsThe Voice's cut to the Top 12 and the delightful Peanuts Movie. Jeff also calls out his participation in Diane's Book Blog Hockey Romance Author's Stanley Cup Bracket feature.

Episode 27's Question of the Week is answered before the guys recap Rainbow Book Fair, which includes 13 quick author interviews they did with fair exhibitors.

Kicking off the show, Jeff's Sweet and Sexy gay romance short story collection coming to paperback at the end of the month. Tammy Middleton's Authors "Sign Off" for Autism Awareness auction is showcased with a reminder than more than 30 items are available with items from authors including Kindle Alexander, RJ Scott, Sara York, Rick R. Reed, Andrew Grey, Charlie Cochet, Rhys Ford and many more.

Among the other topics discussed are B.A. Tortuga's book Trial by Fire, the movies The Martian and Karen Kingsbury's The Bridge Part 2, Cookie Monster's commercial for Siri and Sara Barellies' stall for time during a recent preview of Waitress.

Episode 26's Question of the Week isn't recapped since the guys are recording this episode early, but the answers received are further down this page. Jeff & Will welcome author Clare London to the show. Clare talks about her latest releases, Branded and Double Scoop as well as her writing process and more. The show wraps up with a new Question of the Week, this one from listener Katie: “I have a friend who loves the darker side of m/m romance. Some favorites are Jack L. Pyke and Joseph Lance Tonlet. What are some others?"

This week the guys are getting ready for Rainbow Book Fair in New York City!

The show kicks off with a brief update on Jeff's writing and the creation of a production schedule that goes into 2019. Next, they show off the Gay Sex Coloring Book and the picture Jeff colored. On the TV side, The VoiceDancing with the Stars and the Supergirl/Flash crossover episode are discussed.

April is Autism Awareness Month and friend-of-the-podcast Tammy Middleton is running her annual Authors "Sign Off" for Autism Awareness auction, which features an array of goodies to bid on from authors and publishers--including Jeff's Hat Trick trilogy in paperback.

Jeff talks about Born for This by Chris Guillebeau and Jeff & Will wish the Love Bytes Review blog, run by Dani Maas, a very happy third Anniversary. The guys go over some answers to last episode's Question of the Week. Casey at the Bat creator Bob Glasscock joins the show for an interview about the comic, what inspired him to create Casey and what is process is for writing and drawing it. Bob also asks this week's question: "What comics do you like to read online? Long form? Sci-Fi epics? Gag-a-day?"

The guys have a whole bunch of random topics this week. Jeff starts off talking about the projects he's editing right now and then it's about the book he finished reading last week--Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin. The other book discovery is Gay Sex Positions: An Adult Coloring Book, which they've ordered and Will shows off the sample page he's colored. Moving on to TV, they talk about The Voice battle rounds, La'Porsha Renae on American Idol, Kim Fields and Nyle DiMarco on Dancing with the Stars as well as The Passion Live on Fox.

Last week's Question of the Week on podcasts is answered before the guys dive into two podcasts they listened to that had an impact: The Creative Penn's interview with Beth Buelow about her book Introvert Entrepreneur and The Self Publishing Podcasts' discussion of "How to Be Happy Where You Are in Your Writing Career."

The Academy Award nominated film Carol, starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, is praised. Jeff also discusses the upcoming #40toNoneDay, which raises awareness about LGBT youth homelessness. The show wraps up with the new Question of the Week: "How often do you browse physical bookstores for books?" and a look ahead to the Rainbow Book Fair, coming up April 9 in NYC.

Next up, gay romance author Kris Cook and poptart Chadrick Douglas from the Romance Out Loud podcast join the show to talk about the origin of their show, Kris' books and what Chadrick's digging in the world of pop culture. Jeff & Will wrap up by answering the Kris and Chadrick's Question of the Week: "What podcasts are you listening to?"

The guys talk about what they're looking forward to at the Dreamspinner author conference in Orlando, as well as the brainstorming they've been doing to prepare for a pitch they're going to make on a trilogy they'll write together. Jeff takes a moment to talk about this week's Hat Trick anniversary--it was three year's ago that he signed the contract for the first novel. He also mentions the series being mentioned on Brandilyn's Top 10 LGBT Fiction list that was released on February 28. Since the episode was recorded early, the listeners were referred to the shownotes to see the answers to the question "As a reader, what's your favorite POV and why?"

Jeff introduced USA Today best-selling author Sarina Bowen and called out the success that the book Us is already having while it's in pre-order. Sarina then joined to talk about the upcoming book, which releases on Tuesday, March 8, as well as her writing process with Elle Kennedy and what's coming up for her later this year (including the first book in the new Brooklyn Bruisers series). Sarina also asks the Question of the Week: "Which character archetypes are you just done with?" Jeff & Will kick off the week talking about books they've finished--The Stolen Suitor by Eli Easton and Writing to the Point by Algis Budrys. Jeff discusses his withdrawal pains over the lack of new Hallmark Channel original movies. The guys discuss their disappointment with The X-Files six episode event and look at this week's announcement that Samhain Publishing is shutting down. There's an update on Chris Fox's 21 Day Novel Writing Challenge and the guys talk about heading off the Dreamspinner author conference this week.

Last week's Question of the Week is recapped with some answers from the listeners as well as additional commentary (you can see all the responses in this week's shownotes). Will interviews Jeff about the writer's group he is part of and how it's become part of his process. The new Question of the Week is also unveiled: "As a reader, what’s your favorite POV and why?" This week the guys kick off the show calling out the new sites where the podcast is available. Jeff recaps the amazing week of reviews he had for Make the Right ChoiceA Sound Beginning and Hat Trick 3: Penalty Shot/Hat Trick Overtime: Reunion. Then it's time to talk about the books they've read: Andrew Grey's The Lone Rancher, Eli Easton's The Stolen Suitor and Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy's Us (Sarina will be on the show March 7 to talk about that book). Will celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Valley of the Dolls and gives a shout out to his sister, Jessica, who has a book in KindleScout called Awash in Talent. They also review the answers to last week's Question of the Week (you can see all the answers in the shownotes).

Jeff and Will both read Chris Cook's Write to Market: Deliver a Book that Sells and the talk about that and how it relates to the one year anniversary of the release of Jeff's first self-published title, Flipping for Him. Jeff talks about his new releases available this week: Make the Right Choice from JMS Books and A Sound Beginning from Pride Publishing. The guys also talk about why Will returned an ebook to Amazon, how awesome Fox's Grease Live! was and the 2013 movie In Secret starring Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Felton, Oscar Issac and Jessica Lange. Jeff talks about the books he read over the past week--a beta copy of Wade Kelly's third book in her Jock series as well as an ARC he can't really discuss right now but was swooning over. Will also shows off the February issue of Out which features Tom Daly and Dustin Lance Black as the cover boys for the Love issue.

Snyder for the second part of their interview with her. Jeff and Will kick off the episode with a brief review of January. Jeff talks about the Capolavoro di uomo | Masterpiece of Man coffee table book he recently got, which features profiles of artists of gay erotic art. Will talks about how he got back into coloring, which has become a fad recently with many coloring books now available for adults. The guys also talk about superheroes TV–SupergirlThe Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Agent Carter. Last week’s question of the week is discussed, and Eileen is revealed as the winner of Jordan Nasser’s signed paperbacks.

Author and publisher J.M. Snyder is welcomed to the show for part one of her interview. She talks about her history as an author along with the origin story of her “micropress” JMS Books. We talk about the new JMS Books’ Love Wins series, which rolls out starting February 7 (and includes Jeff’s Make the Right Choice) as well as what JMS Books looks for in the titles it publishes as well as JMS Books position among the LGBT publishers and what’s is coming up later this year.

Jeff and Will kick off the show wishing well all the listeners who endured Winter Storm Jonas over the past weekend.

Jeff honored the 20th Anniversary of the musical Rent, his favorite musical ever, which opened at New York Theatre Workshop on January 25, 1996. The guys discussed the new series on BBC America, London Spy. They also gave a shoutout to The Satyrsphere podcast, which gave BGFP a mention in its most recent episode.

Answers to last week's question of the week were read out and then Jeff and Will welcomed author Jordan Nasser to the show. Jordan talked about his debut novels, Home is a Fire and The Fire Went Wild along with what his initial foray into publishing was like and what his future plans are. Jordan asked the Question of the Week: "How do the seasons affect your reading--the amount of reading and the kinds of books you're reading?"

After the interview Jeff & Will answer that question and let listeners know that if they answer the question in the comments on the website they'll be entered into a giveaway that Jordan's sponsoring for signed paperback copies of his two books.

Jeff and Will welcome everyone to 2016 to kick off the first episode of the new year. There was a lot to recap for the week. Jeff submitted Make the Right Choice on December 30 and it will publish in February. The guys also talk about why the title changed from Breakaway & Score.

Jeff mentions that the 2015 Top Ten Gay Romance anthology released from JMS Books with his story Hat Trick Overtime: Summer Camp was included. Jeff also talks about the Goodreads M/M Romance Readers Choice Awards Hat Trick 3: Penalty Shot was nominated for and Will joins in for a discussion of how the voting works. Prism Book Alliance gets a birthday shoutout and Jeff thanks Brandilyn for calling out the Hat Trick trilogy as one of the best she's read in the two years of reviewing for the site.

The multi-author giveaway to support Eric Arvin's is discussed so listeners can add their donations and be in the raffle for great prizes. Dreampsinner's Dreamspun Desires paperbacks arrived in the mail this week and are shown off. Star WarsThe Force Awakens is praised in a spoiler-free way. Last week's Question of the Week responses were also read (you can see all the responses on the shownotes page).

The guys recapped 2015 and talked about goals/plans for 2016. Will talked at length about how he was approaching 2016 after coming off a bad 2015. Will's approach to the year is based on things he's learned from Todd Herman. Jeff also reviews his 2015 and lays out some of his goals for the new year.
