It's a big anniversary show this week!
Jeff & Will celebrate 21 years since their first date, the podcast celebrates six months and Dreamspinner Press celebrates nine years in business with a week long sale of books from authors who started with them during their first three years (which includes Jeff). Jeff also talks about the decent writing month he had in April and that Tammy Middleton's Authors "Sign Off" for Autism Awareness Auction ended with a $110 bid for the Hat Trick books.
Jeff will be on the WROTE podcast on Friday, May 6. The guys also gave a shout out to their friend David LaBounty whose Bookstores & Baseball zine was written up on Minor League Baseball's website and that David had written a nice piece about BGFP on his The First Line Facebook page. The writeup included the instructions for the a BGFP drinking game.
Will reviews two books: The Unstable Stud by Ariel Tachna and Duke in Hiding by M.J. O'Shea. They guys also discuss the upcoming second season of Lifetime's UnReal and the webseries they caught this past week, UnReal: The Faith Dairies, which focuses on the lesbian character, Faith.
Jay from Joyfully Jay stops by to discuss a couple of LGBTQ panels from the recent RT convention and gives some book recommendations. Then Jeff welcomes Jeff Garvin, author of Symptoms of Being Human to the show to talk about the book, his writing process, Stephen King and more.

The guys talk about what they're looking forward to at the Dreamspinner author conference in Orlando, as well as the brainstorming they've been doing to prepare for a pitch they're going to make on a trilogy they'll write together. Jeff takes a moment to talk about this week's Hat Trick anniversary--it was three year's ago that he signed the contract for the first novel. He also mentions the series being mentioned on Brandilyn's Top 10 LGBT Fiction list that was released on February 28. Author and publisher J.M. Snyder is welcomed to the show for part one of her interview. She talks about her history as an author along with the origin story of her “micropress” JMS Books. We talk about the new JMS Books’ Love Wins series, which rolls out starting February 7 (and includes Jeff’s Make the Right Choice) as well as what JMS Books looks for in the titles it publishes as well as JMS Books position among the LGBT publishers and what’s is coming up later this year.

Jeff honored the 20th Anniversary of the musical Rent, his favorite musical ever, which opened at New York Theatre Workshop on January 25, 1996. The guys discussed the new series on BBC America, London Spy. They also gave a shoutout to The Satyrsphere podcast, which gave BGFP a mention in its most recent episode.
Answers to last week's question of the week were read out and then Jeff and Will welcomed author Jordan Nasser to the show. Jordan talked about his debut novels, Home is a Fire and The Fire Went Wild along with what his initial foray into publishing was like and what his future plans are. Jordan asked the Question of the Week: "How do the seasons affect your reading--the amount of reading and the kinds of books you're reading?"

Jeff mentions that the 2015 Top Ten Gay Romance anthology released from JMS Books with his story Hat Trick Overtime: Summer Camp was included. Jeff also talks about the Goodreads M/M Romance Readers Choice Awards Hat Trick 3: Penalty Shot was nominated for and Will joins in for a discussion of how the voting works. Prism Book Alliance gets a birthday shoutout and Jeff thanks Brandilyn for calling out the Hat Trick trilogy as one of the best she's read in the two years of reviewing for the site.
The multi-author giveaway to support Eric Arvin's is discussed so listeners can add their donations and be in the raffle for great prizes.
